NOTICE: Newsletter & bulletin board to include daily project summary reports

To bring transparency to the blog, I am going to begin posting daily summary reports of the current projects in the works here within the blog. These summary reports will appear here, on the bulletin board below the header, and every newsletter will also carry the latest report.
Lastly, the edition of the summary report in the newsletter will be accompanied with a written report addressing the upcoming plans for the blog.

We need more participation!

Hey everybody, I had to push back the finish date on the current poll and the new project because there isn't enough participation. If you look at the results, you can see the problem. Also, submissions to the database are slim. If anybody out there wants to see this project succeed, please help me out.
I've taken a multi-pronged approach to getting the word out, by posting information about the blog on multiple different chess forums, and contacting people personally in some of the groups. I appreciate those of you who have voted and contacted me. If my current readers could get the word out, contact people you play with, tell anyone you know who enjoys chess, or mention the project in forum posts, it would boost our readership here. Remember that I am willing to correspond with anybody personally, just email me at exeterstreet@ymail.com. I'm open to chess conversation, exchange of played games and theories, and email correspondence games.

Thanks for reading, everybody, if you can help make this blog work, I can promise you a fruitful yeild of rich chess knowledge that we can all learn alot from.

The First Move

The first move has been made, the general consensus was that White should open with 1.e4. How should Black respond? Vote in the next poll!

Here is how the board stands, currently:

Great thanks to: www.chessvideos.tv!

After this next poll, I will start offering lines of play as poll options, rather than single moves. I will base these lines on common openings, as an attempt to speed up the process a little bit, and jump into a position we can start to find interest it.
Keep voting! I am planning a new project to unveil in the next post, along with the results of the next poll.

Also, I want to remind everybody to submit their interesting games to me at exeterstreet@ymail.com. Contribute to the database! The next game that is submitted to me will be analyzed and posted on the blog.

Which trait would you most like to see in the game I analyze next?,

Which opening is the best choice

How should Black respond?
